Little Angel Theatre’s THIS IS NOT MY HAT – second in the series

The Little Angel Theatre responded magnificently to the lack of theatre available online for younger children by creating a stage version of Jon Klassen’s story book I WANT MY HAT BACK.

After the huge success of its showing online, with almost 160,000 views at the time of writing, Little Angel Theatre has again partnered with theatre director Ian Nicholson to stream an adaptation of the sequel to  I WANT MY HAT BACK which is called THIS IS NOT MY HAT. The show is free to access and designed for children aged from 3 to 6.

The show is available until September 1st and lasts just under ten minutes.

Although this production is free to watch, please strongly consider making a donation to the Little Angel Theatre to enable it to reopen after this crisis has passed.

Little Angel Theatre’s I WANT MY HAT BACK

Parents with younger children are in for a treat as award-winning The Little Angel Theatre is streaming a show right now on the Theatre’s YouTube channel. It has already had over 180,000 views!

Little Angel Theatre has partnered with theatre director Ian Nicholson to stream an adaptation of Jon Klassen’s picture book I WANT MY HAT BACK. The show is free to access and aimed at children aged from 3 to 6.

Nicholson directed and performed the show from his home during lockdown, with a set designed by Samuel Wilde and music by Jim Whitcher.

The mischievous tale follows a bear who’s hat has gone, and he wants it back. Patiently and politely, he asks the animals he comes across, one by one, if they have seen it. The book was a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book of 2011, and was shortlisted for the Kate Greenaway medal when it was published in the UK in 2013.

Interestingly, the show was created remotely, with the designer posting the completed set to Nicholson who performed the show from his home
