HM the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2019

HM the Queen has approved over 1,000 honours for her Birthday List 2019.

Here are some of those awarded in the Arts which caught my eye. Congratulations to them all.

Simon Russell Beale becomes a Knight, Olivia Colman becomes a CBE and Sheila Atim becomes an MBE

CBEs also awarded to Marcus Davey, OBE. Chief executive and Artistic director, The Roundhouse. For services to the Arts.
Morris Timothy Angel, OBE. Chairman, Angels Costumes. For services to Theatre, Film, Television and the Arts.
Lionel Michael Stitcher. (known as Mitch Murray) Songwriter, Record Producer and Author. For services to Music.

OBEs  awarded  to  Maria Bota. Creative Producer Great Exhibition of the North. For services to the Arts.

Nigel Ralph Gore Hinds. Executive Producer 14 – 18 NOW. For services to the Arts.

Alfie Boe.  Recording Artist, Singer and Actor. For services to Music

Cush Jumbo. Actress. For services to Drama.

MBEs awarded to Jacqui Dankworth (daughter of Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth). Recording Artist Actress and Singer. For services to Music.
Kelly Hunter. Artistic director Flute Theatre. For services to Theatre.

And in related news, the multi-talented Australian Hugh Jackman (yes, he of WOLVERINE, THE GREATEST SHOWMAN and so much else, and currently on a World Tour) has received the Companion of the Order Award (AC) in the Queen’s Australian Birthday Honours.
